She is a member of the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA), the Australian Shepherd Club of New England (ASCNE). She was active in Aussie Rescue and also served as New England Co-coordinator for ASCNE Rescue. She was a member of Therapy Dogs International (TDI). She is a Charter Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). In addition to instructing for CBDTC, she is the owner of “Positively Best Friends!” (a dog training business in Edgecomb.) Marcia is committed to continuing education in Learning Theory, Canine Behavior, and all of the areas of interest in which she teaches and competes. She lives with six dogs, and is currently training and/or competing in obedience, rally, agility, herding, tracking, and freestyle. She says “Working with my own dogs has allowed me the good fortune of earning local, regional, and national recognition in several performance venues over the years. I am privileged to work with such wonderful, unique beings. I love the bond that is forged through training”. Pam Parker Pam Parker has been teaching with CBDTC for over 5 years is currently president of the club, a member of 3 other dogs clubs as well as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Pam has shared her life with dogs since she was born, first competing in a local town show in 1970 and winning “Smallest in Show” with her mini Dachshund. For the past 11 years, Pam has been actively training (learning from) and competing with her Australian Shepherds in conformation, obedience, agility, and stock. Having finished two conformation champions, and put obedience titles on three dogs, Pam is working on getting “trial ready” in agility and stock and is beginning to delve into the sport of tracking. The other members of CBDTC continue to be her mentors, cheerleaders and a source of inspiration throughout her education as a trainer and instructor. She enjoys teaching all levels of classes for CBDTC because she says she often learns as much as her students during classes. People’s learning and communication styles vary even more and are often much more complicated as their canine companions. She tries to communicate her love and respect for dogs, her passion for learning, and her goal of true teamwork to all of her students emphasizing in her teaching that she is not a dog trainer but a person trainer. Pam currently shares her life with 3 Australian Shepherds and when not teaching can be found working full time for the State of Maine, or working with her dogs at home in Damariscotta. Fran Tardif Fran according to her mother started teaching dogs as she learned to walk holding on to her German Shepherd and telling him where she wanted to go.
