$200 million settlement over meningitis outbreak BOSTON – – Victims of a 2012 meningitis outbreak caused by a now-closed Massachusetts compounding pharmacy will have usage of a $200 million settlement fund, tuesday simply by a federal bankruptcy judge following approval. The new fund will be available to compensate lenders and victims who became ill or passed away as the consequence of receiving tainted steroid shots from the brand new England Compounding Middle. It is part of a plan to liquidate the possessions of the Framingham-based middle approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Henry Boroff. ‘That is really the end process of the personal bankruptcy case, barring any appeals,’ said David Molton, a fresh York lawyer representing lenders.
